Assault Bail Bonds in Winston-Salem

Around The Clock Bail Bonds provides assault bail bond services in Winston-Salem. Assault charges here cover a wide range, from a simple misdemeanor to a serious felony, and that range is the first thing that determines how bond will work for your case.

Most assault charges fall into two categories:

  1. Simple assault or assault and battery, which are usually misdemeanors. A magistrate at the Forsyth County Detention Center can typically set bond quickly, without a special hold.
  2. Felony assault, such as assault with a deadly weapon, assault inflicting serious injury, or assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. These charges can carry much higher bonds, and some now fall under North Carolina’s new violent offense framework, which took effect December 1, 2025. Under that law, judges must presume against release for certain serious assault charges and, if release is granted, must require a secured bond or house arrest with electronic monitoring.

If the alleged assault involved a spouse, someone you live with, or another protected relationship, different domestic violence bail rules apply instead, and those follow a separate timeline. We can tell you right away which category your loved one’s case falls into.

This matters locally too. Winston-Salem’s violent crime rate, which includes aggravated assault, has run well above the national average in recent years, and the Winston-Salem Police Department tracks and reports these numbers publicly each year. Call us and we’ll walk you through what bond looks like for your specific charge.

How Assault Bail Bonds Work

Once bond is set, whether by a magistrate or a judge, getting your loved one out of the Forsyth County Detention Center follows a straightforward process.

  • Arrest and booking happen first. Your loved one is taken to the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center in downtown Winston-Salem, where booking is completed and bond is set based on the specific charge.
  • Confirm the details before calling. It helps to have their full name, booking number if available, and the bond amount ready when you reach out to us.
  • You call Around The Clock Bail Bonds. We answer 24/7, walk you through your options, and start the paperwork right away once bond is set.
  • The bond is posted. Once paperwork is complete, we submit the bond to the detention facility so processing can begin.
  • Release follows. Timing depends on staffing and booking volume at the facility, but we stay in contact throughout so you’re never left guessing.

AMAZING!!! We looked for days for a bail bondsman that would work with us to bring our loved one home. After many calls and unfortunately many heartbreaking let downs, we were able to speak with Jordan and David. They were our miracle that we had been praying so hard for. Within 4 hours of speaking with them we were able to bring him home, the day before thanksgiving I might add! I can not be more grateful for the services I received. He explained what I needed, worked with my family to make sure we could make it happen that day. 5 stars just isn’t enough for what they have done for my family. If I ever find myself or anyone else in need of a bonds man I without a doubt am recommending around the clock bail bonds!
I can not thank y’all enough!!!

I contacted Around The Clock this morning and bondsman Jordan was quick to answer and help me through my concerns and questions (my first time using a bondsman service). He even texted me his personal cell phone number for even faster service. He was courteous and professional and almost immediately got his agent Aubrey connected to assist me. Aubrey was sooo awesome! Very friendly, smiley, knowledgeable and professional and she answered all my questions and worked in a super timely fashion! She stuck it out with me to the end. I couldn't be more pleased with Around The Clock Bail Bonds! Amazing service! A+++++

Honestly, 5 stars just isn’t enough to express how great of a pleasure it was to work with Jordan! Jordan responded quickly, told me what he was capable of doing for my family and he did just that! Jordan arrived to the jailhouse before my family and I. Jordan was prepared with the needed documentation, he was knowledgeable and made the experience stress free! Jordan gave my family a sense of compassion and support while explaining the process moving forward. Jordan was extremely professional yet down to earth which was enjoyable and gave us a bit of relief. Jordan took the time out to speak with my brother who had been incarcerated, giving him support and guidance moving forward. It was obvious that Jordan took on this line of work simply because he has a heart for helping others rather than just looking for a way to gain from them. Although I hope my family is never in need of a bondsman in the near future, I’d never call anyone else other than Jordan to help us out! Jordan thank you so very much for all of your help and continued support!!

Frequently Asked Questions

How Is Bond Different for Misdemeanor vs. Felony Assault?
Misdemeanor assault, like simple assault, usually gets a quick bond from a magistrate. Felony assault, especially charges involving a weapon or serious injury, can carry much higher bonds and may require a judge's review before release is possible.
Does North Carolina's New Bail Law Affect Assault Charges?
Yes, for certain serious felony assault charges. Since December 1, 2025, judges must presume against release for these charges and, if release is granted, must require a secured bond or house arrest with monitoring. Call us and we'll tell you if this applies to your case.
What If the Assault Involved a Family Member or Someone I Live With?
That changes the process. Domestic violence assault charges require a judge, not a magistrate, to set bond, which can mean a longer wait. Let us know the relationship involved and we'll explain the timeline that applies.
What Do I Need Before Calling About a Winston-Salem Assault Arrest?
Have the arrested person's full name, their booking number if available, and the bond amount from the Forsyth County Detention Center. If you don't have all of it yet, call us anyway so we can help you track it down.
